Why?  The 5th generation, or "C5" Corvettes were introduced in 1997 and represented a ground up re-design of this venerable American automotive icon, with features and design improvements which rekindled a new era of passion, respect and admiration for the brand.  No matter what year C5 Corvette you have or are interested in  this is a very special car with a proud heritage to be admired by all and enjoyed by those fortunate enough to own one.  The C5 is a modifier's dream and represents the last of the legendary "pop-up" headlamp Corvettes, which began with the C2 Sting Ray in 1963. Combining timeless, great looks with a powerful, practically "bullet-proof" power plant that's easy on gas, the C5 Corvette is destined to become another collector's classic in the fullness of time.  The good news in the hear and now for fans of the design is that in the present day, the C5 represents perhaps one of the absolute best bangs for the buck in terms of performance and pride of ownership.
